I completely understand your concern and feel sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
Since the issue is occurring after upgrading to Windows 10, the issue must be due to an outdatedcorrupt driver.
Please try the following methods and see if it helps.
Method 1:RunHardware Troubleshooter and see if it helps to resolve the issue. Please follow the below steps.
Iogear Card Reader Installation
Type Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.
Click on Troubleshooting tab.
Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
- Click Next to run the Hardware and Device Troubleshooter.
Also I would suggest you to install the latest driver for the device from the manufacturer website and check. If driver for Windows 10 is not available then please install the drivers in compatibility mode and check.
Acrobat reader for safari. Method 2: Install the drivers in compatibility mode.
I would suggest you to download the software from manufacturer’s website for windows 8.1 and run it in compatibility mode.

Refer the steps below to install a driver in compatibility mode:
a. Right click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties
b. Select Compatibility Tab
c. Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list
d. Let the driver to install and then check the functionality.
